LeBron’s first class of Wheels for Education (WFE) students, the Class of 2021, is moving into middle school and LeBron wanted to do something big.

"I wanted to do something BIG for my Wheels for Ed kids, and not just my kids, but their families too.."

What is that "something big"?

This summer, LeBron and The LeBron James Family Foundation are launching the PROMISE Project in Akron, Ohio. The PROMISE Project, which involves over 30 local partners, will renovate the home and lawn of one WFE Class of 2021 student and overhaul the lawns of nine other WFE Class of 2021 students.

To renovate the home, LeBron and The LeBron James Family Foundation are teaming up with HGTV star Nicole Curtis. Nicole and her HGTV crew will be in town for the duration of the project, which will be turned into an episode of her hit HGTV show, "Rehab Addict." The episode will debut this fall.

The families for the home renovation and the nine additional yards were chosen because the students met certain criteria in areas LeBron encourages them in (their studies, attendance, extracurricular activities, etc.) throughout the school year. If students met all criteria, they were entered into a drawing and selected at random.

The Akron Beacon Journal and Ohio.com are the PROMISE Project’s official hometown media partner.
