Cleveland Championship Parade

As the Larry O’Brien trophy made its way through the streets of downtown Cleveland while the city celebrated its first championship in over 50 years, the glowing gold statue passed by a sea of young kids in the crowd donning I PROMISE bands, a sure sign that the LeBron James Family Foundation float had come before it. Donning the iconic image of LeBron hoisting up that coveted hardware and the Foundation’s WE ARE FAMILY tagline, the LJFF float was filled with its 330 Ambassadors who dished out bands for the young parade goers, LeBron-worn shoes for a lucky few, and smiles for all.

As the Foundation behind the Cavs’ Finals MVP, LJFF’s presence in the parade was about sharing the work and the mission of LeBron beyond the bright lights and on-court accolades. As LeBron says every chance he gets, he knows his mission is bigger than basketball, and this float was a roving reminder of that commitment to all of Northeast Ohio.
