I want kids in Northeast Ohio, like the hundreds of Akron third-graders I sponsor through my Foundation, to realize that there’s no better place to grow up. Maybe some of them will come home after college and start a family or open a business. That would make me smile. Our community, which has struggled so much, needs all the talent it can get. – LeBron James, "I’m Coming Home."

Just as LeBron found a passion for basketball, he wants to help his kids find their life’s passion by opening doors and providing access to unique opportunities in Northeast Ohio that invigorate their minds and have a profound impact on their futures. LeBron and the Foundation, in partnership with its Northeast Ohio business and community partners, are in the process of developing a one-of-a-kind pass for his kids. A "key to the city", LeBron’s PROMISE Pass will be exclusively for his Wheels for Ed and Akron I PROMISE Network kids. The pass will provide kids with free admission for themselves and five family members to Northeast Ohio venues to make it easier for them to explore their hometown and to find special summer-time passions.

This summer, the PROMISE Pass is running a pilot program with LeBron’s in-coming fifth graders. From now until the start of school, students who have a PROMISE Pass will enjoy free admission to the Akron Zoo for themselves and five guests!

The Foundation will use its lessons from the pilot program to improve the PROMISE Pass for program-wide rollout, which is scheduled to release June 2016.
