Powerful Change In Akron

It’s been a whirlwind summer for LeBron since raising the Larry O’Brien trophy with his teammates in June, with his most recent travels taking him to New York City for a mini media tour. Coming off his annual We Are Family Reunion, the focus of the appearances was the work he’s doing in Akron through the LeBron James Family Foundation and how it is creating real, long-term change in his hometown.

The first stop took him inside The Daily Show studios with Trevor Noah where the pair discussed everything from the Foundation’s mission and The University of Akron scholarships to the famous robocalls LeBron makes to his students to make sure they are staying on the right path.

The next morning, LeBron joined Robin Roberts in the plaza outside of the Good Morning America studios in Times Square to talk about the many exciting things LeBron has going on, including the powerful change happening in Akron. The conversation was anchored by the in-depth ESPN feature on LJFF in which Rachel Nichols visited with the students, parents, and educators in Akron to examine how LeBron’s program is really working to uplift the entire community in Akron.
