Wingfoots Classic is UNINTERRUPTED

Just as LeBron James put his city on the map and set the standard for greatness in his hometown, his annual Wingfoots Classic was created to showcase some of Akron’s elite student athletes so they too, could put themselves, their schools, and their communities on the map. After this year’s event with its storybook, storming-of-the-court ending, premiere high school basketball in Akron will never be the same.

Fortunately for all who were unable to experience it live – and even for those who were and simply want to relive the instant classic – our sister media company UNINTERRUPTED teamed up with hometown partner Goodyear to present "The Gold Standard," a mini-documentary that offers an insightful look into the teams’ preparation, mindset and execution throughout the week-long event featuring LeBron’s alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary (STVM) High School and Stow-Munroe Falls (Stow) High School.

Competition. Camaraderie. Community. This year’s Wingfoots Classic had it all. Catch the short film on UNINTERRUPTED here.
